"I pity the Mayor. He is a good person but he is caged. He has to come out of that it. The Chief Minister and R Ashok have tied him with a chain while holding the other end of the string in their hands. They are making him dance to their tunes," Nagaraj told a press conference.

The Leader of the Opposition said the convention of forming the standing committees soon after the new Mayor takes over has been violated as the Government was reluctant to form the committees.

"The government is hesitating to allow the formation of the standing committees because it would expose the wrong-doings of BBMP in the last three years," Nagaraj alleged. He demanded a white paper on the functioning of BBMP in the last two years. He said he was close to exposing the financial mismanagement.

Ridiculing the training camp organised by BBMP for the new corporators, Nagaraj said the resource persons for the training were BBMP Commissioner Bharatlal Meena, BDA Commissioner Siddaiah and BWSSB Chairperson Ramamurthy who had failed to resolve the City’s infrastructure problems.
