The duo were moving suspiciously in the region. Seeing the police, they began to run. The police chased them and nabbed them.

The arrested are Padmanabha alias Subbe Gowda (28) and Vijay Kumar alias Singe Gowda (24), a native of Udnal village in Hargal. The police seized Naxal handouts during search operation. From the house of Padmanabh, police have seized five gelatin sticks.

Speaking to presspersons, SP Vikas Kumar said during the interrogation the duo had agreed that they were involved in bomb blasts at Matholli in March 2009, pasting of Naxal handouts in Kunchebail School in 2009 and banners which were found in Bukadibail on May 5, 2010.

The Naxal handouts read: “Let us bring out the truth of this government who are appointing informers and let us boycott the agents who have been cheating the tribals.”

Police Inspector Sadananda Thippanna had filed a case with regard to the Naxal banner and handouts found in Bukadibail in May 5, 2010. Accordingly, SP had constituted two separate teams with DySP Abdul Ahmed and Circle Inspector Sadananda Thippanna to search for Naxals.
