The state government has directed collectors of the affected districts to provide immediate relief to the storm-hit people. Strong winds accompanied by heavy showers also hit state capital Bhubaneswar on Monday evening. However, there was no loss of life anywhere in the city though trees were uprooted and electricity supply was snapped at many places.
Some parts of the state witnessed stormy conditions for a few hours under the impact of a “norwester” which was normal during this period of the summer, weather office said.
