Shiv off to strong start in Madrid

Last Updated 28 May 2010, 19:22 IST

SSP Chowrasia was lying tied 62nd after a round of one-under 71. It was, however, Shiv Kapur who turned in the best card by an Indian. The trio of Jamie Donaldson, Luke Donald and Rhys Davies shared the lead at seven-under 65.

Meanwhile in Fort Worth, Texas, Jeev Milkha Singh’s chances of making the cut for weekend action seem bleak as he is in the bottom heap with a three-over 73 in the opening round of the Crowne Plaza Invitational. The seasoned Indian pro is tied for the 113th spot in the USD 6.2 million event. At the top, it was a three-way tie for the lead with Americans Jeff Overton, Jason Bohn and Blake Adams carding identical 63s.
