Chougule’s effort goes in vain

Deepak Chougule’s mammoth ton was the highlight of the drawn encounter between Swastic Union CC (1) and Vultures CC in the KSCA Group I, Division I league for the Sir Mirza Ismail Shield.
Batting first, SUCC, riding on a brilliant 168 from Chougule, notched up an impressive 394 all out in 126.1 overs. Abrar Kazi chalked up a half-century while VS Thilak Naidu (34) chipped in with his might. A Mithun (3/90) and Tejas A Wagle (2/93) were the pick of the bowlers for VCC.
VCC, who had only 30 overs to for in the match, finished at 118 for three in 30 overs to settle for a draw. KV Bharath (53) was the top-scorer for VCC.
Brief scores: Swastic Union CC (1): 394 all out in 126.1 overs (Deepak Chougule 168, VS Thilak Naidu 34, Abrar Kazi 71, Udit Patel 29; A Mithun 3-90, Tejas A Wagle 2-93) drew Vultures CC: 118/3 in 30 overs (KV Bharath 53, Karun nair 30; N Aravind 2-40).

Badminton meet for the challenged
»BSAIC will conduct the 9th National badminton for the challenged from July 3-5  at the Malleswaram Association. The meet will also run as the selection trial for the seniors for the World Championship to be held in September in Korea.
