The roads are pockmarked by potholes, making them a nightmare for travelers. Even as roads in big cities are seeing a facelift, the roads in villages and towns of the taluk seem to be getting worse. It is apparent that the money for development of roads are being siphoned off.

NH 4 which connects Andhra Pradesh via M N Halli is in tatters. The road was under the Public Welfare Department but has now been changed to NH 234 and connects Tiruvannamalai and Mangalore. The highway is in in a horrible shape near Srinivaspura town. So are various stretches of NH 4.

The Zilla Panchayat Engineering Department takes charge of the development of roads in villages. The Zilla Panchayat members are responsible for the development of the roads. Sincere efforts from Leaders, Road Development officials, members and public play a key role to development  but this seldom happens.
