The minister told the Legislative Assembly that between May 2009 and June 2010 as many as 1,799 people were affected by swine flu. Of them 177 people died. When member Dr Malakareddy sought to know the measures taken to procure medicine for dengue from the minister, the latter offered no details but said all necessary measures have been taken.
