'Do not tarnish my daughter's name'

In obvious anguish, Naveena’s father, J Sreenivas Reddy pleaded with people not to tarnish his daughter’s image. “Please do not dig in too much into my daughter’s life. The incident happened on court premises. So let the judiciary handle this issue,” he said.

Devi Narayana Swamy, uncle of the deceased reached Bangalore from Chintamani early afternoon on business, when he got a call about the incident. “I immediately rushed here. I still cannot believe she is dead. Just few days back we were discussing about her marriage. And she was planning to meet her mother this weekend,” he said. Naveena’s body was handed over to the family after the completion of the post-mortem at 7 pm and was taken to her village Jambapura in Kolar.
