<p>As villagers were demanding for a hanging bridge between Balegadde and Khandya, the government sanctioned Rs 45 lakh. The construction work, which was going on a fast pace, is nearing completion and is expected to complete within a month. Villagers here were using traditional boats to cross Bhadra river to reach their destinations.<br /><br />It can be recalled that three of a family had died in a boat mishap in September, 2009. MLA D N Jeevaraj had visited the spot then and had assured villagers of sanctioning fund for the construction of hanging bridge. <br /><br />Accordingly, the work was taken up and now the villagers are eagerly waiting for the completion of work.<br /></p>
