Woman scribe allegedly molested by policemen during rath yatra

The cameraman of the news channel was also beaten up when he tried to protect the scribe, they said, adding the accused policemen have been arrested.

"The two personnel of the India Reserve Battalion (IRB) have been arrested and a case was registered against them for outraging the modesty of the woman journalist and attacking the cameraman," Inspector-in-Charge of Nayapalli police station, Tapan Mohanty said.
The incident took place when deities at the ISKCON Temple were being carried in a procession to the chariot for the annual car festival.

When she complained of molestation and the cameraman protested he was beaten up by the two policemen, the journalist alleged.She lodged an FIR at Nayapalli police station.
The two were identified as Nrushingha Sahu and Manoranjan Behera, the sources said.
A case has been registered against them under various sections of IPC, including section 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 341 (wrongful restraint), 354 (outraging the modesty of a woman), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 34 (common intention)
