<p>While upholding a decision to dismiss Khazia Mohammed Muzammil, a lower court judge appointed by the Karnataka High Court, a bench of Justices B S Chauhan and Swatanter Kumar said: “We further direct that all the high courts would ensure the police verification reports conducted in accordance with law…’’<br /><br />The apex court on Wednesday said the Karnataka High Court on the administrative side also appeared to have dealt with the matter in a very casual manner. “It was expected of the government as well as the high court to have the character verification report before the appointment letter was issued.’’ <br /><br />The Supreme Court dismissed a petition filed by Muzammil, who had challenged the high court decision not to confirm his service after keeping him on probation for more than three years.</p>
