CII national council meet in Bangalore

Briefing reporters, CII Director General Chandrajit Banerjee, said the meet will focus on issues pertaining to implementation of FDI in retail and defence sectors, infrastructure, agriculture and growth, among others. It will also explore ways in which India could achieve 10 per cent growth.

CII, he said, was in favour of opening up both retail and defence sectors for FDI. The only issue was whether Indian private sector would have access to similar technology in foreign countries and get a chance to participate in their defence programmes. Around 75 national CEOs would be participating which will also see an interactive session with Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa.
