A supplementary budget to the tune of Rs 9,414 crore (Karnataka Appropriation Bill no -3) was adopted by the House by a voice vote. A total of Rs 10,128 crore has been earmarked for debt servicing.

The finance bills were passed without the customary reply to demand for grants by the finance minister. Usually, there are protracted discussions on the demands for grants with the finance minister replying to it.

However, with the entire Opposition staging a dharna over the illegal mining issue, Speaker K G Bopaiah put the finance bill to vote without discussion.

The government had sought an vote on account for the budget proposals-2010-11 for four months in March this year. The sanction granted by Legislature was to expire on July 31.
