Police said a group of four members arrived in a car and brutally assaulted Pitti Nagesh, a rowdy-sheeter, and fled the spot. Police suspect involvement of a rival gang in the assault case.
Pitti Nagesh, aged about 45, was involved in crimal cases including a murder case a few years ago. He has been admitted at KMC Manipal and his condition is said to be critical.
