Deepak Thakur (1st minute), Hamza Mujtaba (49th) and Roshan Minz (64th) were on target for IOCL in a largely lop-sided encounter.
The Hockey India Juniors’ forwards played well but lacked the punch in converting the chances that came their way.
With this win, IOCL have nine points and are assured of a semifinal berth while the Juniors were content with four points from three outings. The teams have two more group matches left.
Earlier, Punjab National Bank scored a 3-0 win over Southern Railway in Group B. Jalwinder Singh (34th), Bruno Logun (42nd) and Nitin Kumar (65th) struck a goal apiece for PNB.
