Hearing a petition by over 700 STF personnel, who had moved the High Court seeking directions to get the sites promised by the government for their role in the elimination of forest brigand Veerappan, the division bench comprising Justice K L Manjunath and Justice Jawad Rahim lashed out at the State Government for its delay.
The petitioners, seeking sites instead of cash said that the Tamil Nadu had allocated sites to all the 754 STF over there along with a loan of Rs five lakh and medal way back in 2005.
Mentioning that the State STF members are still struggling to get their promised sites and cash by the government, the petitioners submitted that all the members in Tamil Nadu were immediately given promotion within ten days of the death of forest brigand.
The matter was adjourned after Advocate General assured to furnish details after
discussing with the officers.
