Constable kills brother

Venkatachala, who had been serving Delhi police for the last 16 years, had remained absent for duty in the last six months.

According to the police, a land dispute existed between Venkatachala and his brother Krishnappa (45). The brothers picked up a quarrel on Sunday over the issue.
On Monday evening, he barged into Krishnappa’s house in Madhurangar near Varthur and hacked him to death with lethal weapons.

The police acted quickly after Krishnappa’s family members alerted them and arrested Venkatachala.

Burglary

Thieves struck at a computer training centre in Jayanagar on Sunday night and decamped with Rs 1.85 lakh cash.

According to the police, the thieves broke open locks of the front door of IMS Learning Resource Private Limited located on Jayanagar 11th Cross and gained entry.
They lifted Rs 1.85 lakh cash kept in an almirah and fled. The theft came to light on Monday morning.

Physician dies

A practising physician accidentally slipped on the road and died while returning home on Sunday night in Madivala police limits.

The deceased has been identified as Sharanappa. He was working with Venkateshwar Hospital and was sacked from service three months ago.

Dr Sharanappa, a heavy drinker, was inebriated when he collapsed at Ayyappa temple near St John’s Hospital and died within minutes. He might have died due to heart attack, the police suspected and said that exact cause of his death will be known after a post mortem.

Dr Sharanappa reportedly was attending duty at Venkateshwar Hospital, inebriated.
He failed to kick the habit despite warnings and was ultimately sacked, according to police.
