Dalit students lay siege to Social Welfare Department

Prior to that the protesters took out a protest rally from Dr H Narasimhaiah circle  and culminated at the Department.

The protesters said that till now officials from the Social Welfare Department worked as wardens of the hostel. But the decision of the department to hand over the hostel responsibility to the college on contract basis is not fair, they said.

The members wanted the appointment to be nullified and urged to appoint any person from the department.

Dalit Sangharsh Samiti members G Narasimhappa, Mahesh and other important leaders were present on the occasion. The members later on submitted a memorandum to the Social Welfare Officer.
