Polish Patriot, ridden by Imran Chisty and trained by Padmanabhan, comfortably beat the rest of the field to take the KN Chennabasappa Memorial Cup over 1600 metres, the plum event of Friday’s races here.
Desert Rule (J Pradeep up) and Suraj Narredu-ridden Blink were the fronrunners with Polish Patriot tucked in behind the two. At the straight, Polish Patriot made his move and eased past the leaders to take the race by two-and-a-half-lengths.
Favourite Shotgunn (JG Sampson up) finished second while Equidae, ridden by Neeraj Rawal, finished third.
