He has been sentenced to one year simple imprisonment with a fine of Rs 5,000. He was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 1,000 from complainant A R Kadam of Hubli for the registration of his coaching institute.
Penalty imposed
The vigilance team of Gulburga Electricity Supply Company, Raichur has imposed a penalty of Rs 51,440, on a winery in Tavaregare village in Kushtagi taluk, for power theft. A release from office of Inspector General of Police (Vigilance and Enforcement) stated that the unit was directly drawing power from distribution lines of Gescom.
