Mahendra Singh Dhoni said on Friday evening that as on date, India would have a full 16 to choose from for a Test they must win to draw the series. Gautam Gambhir and Yuvraj Singh missed the second Test with a knee injury and high fever respectively, while Sachin Tendulkar did not take the field on Friday afternoon, nursing a stiff groin.

“Sachin didn’t field because of the stiff groin, but he is much better as we speak and he should be fine for the Test match,” Dhoni told newsmen.  Gambhir and Yuvraj have both had net sessions in the last few days, and the latter even came out to field as a substitute for Tendulkar on the final evening, making at least one spectacular save in the covers.

The outlook is positive from a Sri Lankan perspective too, with Lasith Malinga all set to return to the playing eleven. Man of the match in the first Test, Malinga was rested for the second Test after stiffness in his knee.
