Dr Garg new director of MIT

Dr Garg obtained her BE (Honours) in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the erstwhile University of Roorkee (UOR), now IIT Roorkee, in 1971. After a brief stint with BEL, Bangalore, she returned to UOR to complete her Masters in Computer Science and Engineering in 1976, following, which she joined the Department of E & C in July 1976 as Lecturer. She obtained her doctorate degree in Distributed Computer Systems from Imperial College, London, UK in 1984 and returned to UOR to become Reader in 1985 and Professor of Computing in 1989. Dr Garg was a recipient of the Commonwealth Scholarship of the British Council UK, from 1981-84. She was also awarded the Apple Distinguished Educator (ADE) award in 2006, from Apple Systems, USA, for ‘commitment to the promise of educational technology in the classroom and beyond.’
