Big win for Cottonians
Bishop Cotton Boys School defeated Jain International Residential School 6-0 to enter the quarterfinals from Pool ‘D’ of the GS Randhawa Memorial inter-school hockey tournament on Saturday.

Malem K (first, 59th), Zuben Perera (11th, 34th, 45th) and Ameen Ahmeed (22nd) were the goal-scorers for Cottons. Bishop Cotton Boys joined FAPSin the knock-out phase.
In the second match, Zilla Panchayat School, Bellary hold Maria Niketan High School in a goalless draw in Pool ‘B’. Maria Niketan qualified for the knock-out phase. Zilla Panchayat School, Gulbarga defeated The Best High School 7-0. The goal scorers for Gulbarga were Bhagesh (15th, 23rd), Veeresh (19th), Basavaraj (22nd), Sunil (33rd, 40th) and Dayasagar (38th).

Gulbarga outfit entered the quarterfinals from Pool ‘B’. Rashtriya Military School, Kendriya Vidyalaya, NAL, St Germain HS and St John’s HS were the other teams entered the quarterfinals.
