This also created confusion for a while. In the morning, the employees of UoM were axing trees behind the Senate Bhavan. KSOU staff brought this to the notice of Registrar Jayaprakashrao. Later, the KSOU staff went to the spot and tried to stop further axing of trees on the grounds that the land belongs to them. This led to a wordy duel between the KSOU and UoM employees. The further cutting of trees was stopped. The staff members informed this to KSOU VC, Prof Rangappa who is out of town.

When contacted, UoM VC, Prof V G Talawar said the land belongs to them and trees were being cut with the permission of Forest Department. The varsity wants to build a ladies hostel and other developmental works on that land. There is no confusion whatsoever. “We have documents to prove that the piece of land belongs to us. Our intention is that both UoM and KSOU should progress. I will discuss with Prof Rangappa about the row after the latter returns”, he added.
