Naxal's death yet to be confirmed

Prabha said to have died in Bangalore due to illness

Prabha was suffering due to ill-health for the past several days. It is learnt that Prabha was admitted to a private hospital in Bangalore, where her name was registered as Susheela. Prabha said to have died in the hospital on Wednesday. However, police officials refuse to provide details.

Prabha is the third daughter of Hosagadde Narayana Shettar of Balehallli village in Bidurugodu Gram Panchayat in the taluk. She had completed her High School Education in Agumbe and later left to Shimoga to study for PU course. Prabha said to have joined the naxal movement after participating in many protests. She was active as a naxal leader in Western Ghat regions for the past 10 years. It is said that she is the wife of naxal leader B G Krishnamoorthi.

Prabha was leading the naxal troupes to meet landlords. The government had announced Rs five lakh reward for those who tip off about Prabha. Krishnamoorthi and Prabha had left forest for treatment when both of them were suffering from diabetes and asthma. It is learnt that both of them had not participated in the martyrs’ day, which was observed by naxals recently. Prabha was discharged after she was recovered from illness a week ago. Later, she was staying in an apartment of her relatives. However, it is learnt that she was taken to hospital again as she was vomiting blood and later she died there.

26 cases

A total of 26 cases were registered against Prabha at Shringeri, Aldur, Balehonnur and Jayapura police stations. She is accused in Gandaghatta Venkatesh murder, Thanikodu Checkpost destruction, vandalising Kerekatte Forest Office and Matholli blast.
