Nadal in quarterfinals

Next up for Nadal is Cypriot Marcos Baghdatis who pulled off an impressive 7-5, 6-4 victory over Czech Tomas Berdych.Holder Roger Federer received another huge break as he advanced by walkover as third-round opponent Philipp Kohlschreiber retired before their match with a right shoulder injury.

Second seed Novak Djokovic beat  Argentine David Nalbandian 6-1, 7-6 (9-7) and will face Andy Roddick, who edged Soderling 6-4, 6-7, 7-6. Andy Murray put out Latvian Ernest Gulbis 4-6, 6-3, 7-6 (7-4).

Paes-Dlouhy out
In doubles, Leander Paes and Czech Lukas Dlouhy  crashed 3-6, 2-6  to Mardy Fish and Mark Knowles.

Clijsters eases through
Kim Clijsters raced into the quarterfinals of the Montreal Cup on Thursday with a 6-2, 6-1 demolition of Kaia Kanepi.
Caroline Wozniacki ousted Italian Flavia Pennetta 4-6, 6-3, 6-1 victory. Zheng Jie beat Elena Dementieva 7-6, 6-4 while  Francesca Schiavone of Italy advanced with a 6-4, 6-3 win over Russian Dinara Safina.
