Hanur: Sick tusker dies

 With this, the total number of elephants died in Bailur forests has gone up to five in the last one month.

According to villagers, the elephant had been suffering from diarrhoea and had stopped consuming water and fodder in the last two weeks. It had been wandering in the surrounding areas of Jadegowdanadoddi village near P G Pallya. Recently, four elephants had died of some disease near Lokkanahalli and Bailur.

Another elephant had died after a forest staffer opened fire at the elephant which had accidentally strayed into Lokkanahalli.
