The protesters said many meritorious students in the poor and middle class families are unable to get good education due to the “donation menace”.

In order to put a brake to the donation menace, they urged the government to establish many more pre-university and degree colleges, and the free education should be extended till 18 years of age.

“The quality of the existing government colleges should be upgraded. Misappropriation in giving approval to the private educational institutions should be checked. All institutions should mandatorily follow the reservation policy framed by the government,” they urged.

The protesters urged the government to take action against the institutions receiving donations, and to stop privatising education sector.

SIO of India District Conveners Muhammed Nisar and Ruksana, Secretary Asif Iqbal addressed the protesters.
