Singer Brahmam passes away

The last rites were conducted on Friday evening. Brahmam is survived by his wife, four daughters and two sons.

He had been a singer for four decades and earned the title of Junior Ghantasala. Although credited for giving Chikkaballapur a special place in the field of music, Brahmam had several admirers in Kolar, Bangalore, rural regions as well as in neighbouring states- Hindupur in Andhra Pradesh and Hosur in Tamil Nadu.

He had brought out several cassettes with devotional songs, Ganesha Ganamrita being a popular one.

Music director K P Sukhdev, singers S N Manjunath, N Muniraju and others have condoled the loss.
