Viveka's case closed, clean chit to former boyfriends

 
On June 25, Viveka was found hanging inside her apartment at the Continental building in Bandra. The detectives had come across a note purportedly written by her on the last page of her diary, which read “U (you) killed me Gautam Vora.”

Based on that note and circumstances, the crime branch investigated Babajee’s boyfriend and stockbroker Gautam Vora, who denied any wrongdoing and in fact claimed that he was helping the supermodel to come out of depression.

What added into police’s suspicion was Babajee family’s revelations about the close relationship between Viveka and Gautam, hinting that they were actually planning to marry. Their intimate photographs were released to the press by the family.

While the investigators were probing the Gautam angle, another lead took them to her ex-boyfriend and event manager Kartik Jobanputra, who came under scanner for the same reason.

“The chemical analysis report submitted by the forensic science laboratory rules out any foul play. Except the note, there is no evidence to indicate that Babajee was pressurised by someone to commit suicide,” a senior police official involved in the investigations said.
The police will now file an accidental death report in the case, which has been closed for further investigation.
