These were the three oaths that were administered by State BJP President K S Eshwarappa at BJP SC Morcha Meeting at Rajendra Kalamandira in the city on Tuesday.

Admitting that some leaders his own party too had deployed such tactics during the polls, Eshwarappa claimed that never in his political career he had adopted such tactics. He also swore on his house deity in support of  his claim. He felt that the time is appropriate to bring in some changes by seeking votes only on the basis of development works, leaving behind liquor and money.

On discrepancy among dalits in the name of ‘left’ and ‘right’, Eshwarappa gave a clarion call to them to stop the same. He admitted again that the political parties at the time of polls create rift among the communities. This apart, dalits suffer from inferiority complex and it is high time they overcome such feelings as they do not lack leadership abilities. “The dalit leaders should not restrict themselves for visiting cards. They should take the lead in introducing reforms in the society”,  Eshwarappa said. There was a feeling that reservation facility will undergo hammer if BJP ascended power. But, it was the same BJP government in the State that allocated huge funds for the uplift of the community against the meagre budgetary allocation during the tenure of non-BJP governments.

Earlier Chairman of Dr B R Ambedkar Development Corporation A R Krishnamurthy who is also president of BJP State  SC Morcha said that the party was committed towards welfare of dalits. Citing himself, Krishnamurthy said that the CM B S Yeddyurappa feted him with the chairmanship of the Corporation, unveiling his concern for the community.

BJP national spokesperson Ramnath Khovind, VP, State SC Morcha, Manohar Inapur, MLCs D S Veeraiah, C H Vijayashankar, Thontadarya were present.
