Leaders of various political parties, members of various organisations garlanded the statue of Sir M Visvesaraya at Cauvery Vana. They also remembered his contributions to the fields of education, irrigation and industry in the district.

City Municipal Council President Arunkumar, Zilla Panchayat President Leelavathi, S Honnaiah, Mallaradhya Prasanna, Linganna Bandhukar, former Kannada Sahitya Parishat President Dharanendaraiah participated in ‘Visveswara Namana’-a programme held to pay rich tributes to Sir MV.On this occasion, the members of Bhavasar Kshatriya Yuvaka Sangha donated blood at a camp organised at Panduranga Bhavan.

 District Youth Congress President M S Chidambar, Dr Vasumathi Rao, Meera Shivalingaiah and others were present.In another function, members of Sir M V Geleyara Balaga offered floral tributes to the portrait of Sir M V at Hosahalli circle in Mandya and distributed sweets.
