With cases against as many as 300 properties at various judicial levels, the Committee has appealed to the zonal commissioners to ensure that the caveat process is completed in the next one week and start acquiring the Palike properties whose lease period has expired.
At a meeting with the zonal heads, the Committee pulled up the officials for their laxity in issung notices to all the identified properties whose lease period has expired. The absence of the East zone officials enraged the Committee members who held them in contempt for not attending any of the previous sessions too. The Committee is now contemplating to take action against those officials who delayed in issuing notices in BBMP South Zone.

Addressing the Committee and the gathering of officials, the BBMP Deputy Commissioner (Estates) proposed to have new guidelines for ensuring that a database is maintained on the BBMP properties. Under the proposal a register is to be maintained by the Assistant Revenue Officer (ARO) concerned and also a copy of the same at the BBMP head office with the Estates Department.
