'Krishi Utsav' in Sakleshpur

Around 1,000 farmers are expected to participate in this utsav. An exhibition of agriculture equipment and technical seminars will be held for the benefit of farmers, said Assistant Director, department of Agriculture,  J H Yogish on Monday. A rally would be taken out from Sakleshwaraswamy temple on Wednesday at 10 am which will pass through Rajabeedi and proceed to Guruvegowda Kalyan Mantap. An interaction and lecture on natural farming methods will be held director of extension, Dr M A Shekar of University of Agricultural Sciences and progressive farmer L Narayana Reddy of Doddaballapura.

Progressive farmer Hemmige Mohan, Hasugavalli Maheshkumar, Scientists Dr Vadiraj, Dr Venugopal would take part in an interaction with with farmers and discuss issues pertaining to Coffee and Pepper crops, diseases and pest control on September 23. Officials of various departments would provide information on the benefits available to the farmers on September 24.

 Reputed fertiliser companies like MCF and RCF would participate in the festival and have agreed to test the soil. Yogesh has urged the farmers to bring soil samples for testing.
