Zakat Foundation of India (ZFI), a Delhi-based charity organisation, awarded a cheque of Rs.50,000 to Mohammad and assured to take care of his family.
"We will treat Salim's wife Shabana, who is a TB patient, and we can also accommodate the two children in one of ZFI's children's houses," said ZFI President Syed Zafar Mehmood.
The Delhi Police Tuesday had announced a cash award of Rs.25,000 for Saleem who along with a police constable Pramod had pursued the assailants in a bid to catch them.
