Vijay Kumar Khanapure was trapped by Lokayukta sleuths while accepting Rs 2,700 as bribe from Jagadish, a contractor, to settle a bill. Jagadish had lodged a complaint with the Lokayukta. The court has ordered that the convicted will have to undergo imprisonment for three more months in case of failure to pay fine.
