President Asif Zardari has already announced cash prizes for the players with the national assembly and provincial assemblies also passing resolutions congratulating the team for giving the nation a wonderful gift.

Some federal ministers have even expressed hope that after Pakistan's World Cup win, the International Cricket Council should return the 2011 World Cup matches to the country.

Federal ministers also urged teams to start touring Pakistan again.

Pakistan's triumph over Sri Lanka in Sunday's final has triggered widespread jubilation with the media giving extensive coverage to the team's performance and subsequent celebrations with television channels covering the players' arrival at the airport live.
