Ayodhya verdict: Peace march, meeting organised at S'ghatta TP office

Human chain formed for communal harmony

Participating in the meeting, Legislator V Muniyappa called upon the religious leaders to ensure peace and help maintain law and order situation in the taluk.

Tahsildhar Mallikarjun, Circle Inspector P Narasimha Murthy, TP Executive Officer Amarnath briefed the participants about the arrangements made to ensure peace.

After the meeting, the officials and leaders took out a procession through the main roads of the taluk and formed a human chain at the Kote Circle as a mark of harmony.
Block Congress president Munikrishnappa, ZP Health and Education Standing Committee president N luniyappa, Kundalagurki Venkatesh, JD(S) leader Mani, PWD Assistant Executive Engineer Malleshaiah and others took part in the procession.
In Kolar Leaders of various organisations participated in a procession to spread the message of peace and harmony on Wednesday in view of the Babri Masjid verdict to be out a week later.

The participants assembled at the Tourists Bungalow and took a procession through M G Road, Doddapete Circle, Ammavaripete Circle and formed a human chain at the Mekke Circle. CPI (M)’s Arjunan, CITU district unit’s Gandhinagar Narayanaswamy, Janawadi Mahila Sanghatane’s Sushila, Anjinamma, Karnataka Prantha Raitha Sangha’s P R Suryanarayana, T M Venkatesh, Samatha Sainik Dal’s Ramanna, Anganwadi Workers’ Association B S Nagarathna, Munirajamma, Eshwaramma, District Peace Committee member Sri Krishna, City Municipal Corporation members Salauddin, Babu, Sriram, Somashekar, Chandpasha, Ravindra, Mubarak, SFI and DYFI members took part in the Kolar procession.
