Dharma Samsad in Kanyadi

Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy and Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javdekar will take part in the inaugural function of Dharma Samsad, to be held at Rama Kshethra in Kanyadi on September 3.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Saturday, reception committee honorary president Nalin Kumar Kateel said that Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari D Veerendra Heggade will preside over the programme. Union Minister D V Sadananda Gowda, former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa will also take part in the event.

The preparations for the mega event has been completed. Over 2,000 saints and seers from North India will take part. Their boarding facilities have been arranged in Ujire and Dharmasthala. Anna Chatra has been constructed to prepare food for the participants. A reception office has been opened at Mangaluru Railway Station. Bus arrangements have been made to ferry the participants to the venue.

He said, on Sunday, a procession of saints and seers will be held from Ujire Janardhana Temple to Rama Kshethra Kanyadi. Five chariots have been constructed for the purpose.

Necessary security arrangements are in place for the event. A full-fledged parking facility has been arranged at the venue. A team of 1,000 volunteers will be at work to ensure the smooth conduct of the programme.

Dharma Samsad is being organised on account of decennial celebrations of pattabhisheka of Sri Brahmananda Saraswathi Swami of Sri Gurudeva Mutt. The resolutions passed in the Dharma Samsad will be sent to the government, said Brahmananda Saraswathi Swami in a separate press meet held at Ujire.

The seer said just like the way Parliament discusses on the national issues, the seers, saints and the religious leaders will discuss the issues pertaining to the Hindu religion.

He said, the seers, sages from all akhadas, Natha panth and Bairagis will be brought under one platform. There is a proposal to form “Rashtriya Loka Kalyan Manch.”
