A young farmer reeling under debt burden committed suicide by consuming poison in Hemadala village of Hiriyur taluk on Monday.
According to the information provided by the relatives of Doddanna(23), he had borrowed around Rs 15 lakh from various banks and had deserted his village as he was unable to repay the loans. It is said Doddanna had told his aunt about the loan waiver mentioned by all the political parties in their election manifesto and was awaiting an official order in this regard.
