Producer Boney Kapoor on Thursday unveiled the trailer of his latest Tamil movie Valimai, starring Ajith Kumar, much to the delight of fans. The video opens with a thrilling sequence involving bikes, which sets the stage for the mass hero's entry. The Citizen star plays the role of a cop with a unique way of working. Judging by the trailer, the film will explore what happens when his character locks horns with a deadly foe. Unlike Viswasam, this one has an urban setting and will cater to the 'Gen Y' audience.

Valimai, backed by Bollywood producer Boney Kapoor, is likely to feature several intense chase sequences at par with the ones seen in Hollywood flicks. The movie stars Huma Qureshi, who made her Kollywood debut with Rajinikanth's Kaala, as the leading lady. She, however, does not play Ajith's love interest in director H Vinoth's magnum opus. The cast includes RX 100 actor Karthikeya, V J Bani of Roadies fame, Yogi Babu and Kannada actor Achyuth Kumar.

This marks Ajith's second consecutive collaboration with Vinoth and Kapoor. The trio collaborated for the 2019 release Nerkonda Paarvai, a remake of the Bollywood hit Pink. It featured the star in the role of a lawyer and highlighted the importance of consent. The film did well at the box office while receiving rave reviews. It had an impressive cast that included Shraddha Srinath, Andrea Tariang, journalist Rangaraj Pandey and Vidya Balan. It remains to be seen whether Valimai lives up to the standards set by their previous movie when it hits the screens this Pongal.
