Goripalayam

Turning temple town Madurai into Chennai’s crime capital has become the bane of Kollywood cinema. One more joining this bandwagon is “Goripalayam”. Trying to mimic the magic of Nadodigal and Subramaniapuram, Madhuravan turns “Goripalayam” gory and gruesome. A fetid attempt to rekindle former’s formulaic success, “Goripalayam” falls flat.

Full of bloody bedlam and mindless mayhem, the film revolves around high-on-drug quartet pursued by a mercernary hired to finish them off. Instead of meaningful and moving homily on how bad upbringing and abject parental neglect can lead youth astray and take to vices, Madhuravan turns “Goripalayam” just trite and tedious.
