The <em>Avengers</em> helmer ordered major rewrites and ultimately decided against using most of the footage filmed by Snyder. <em>Justice League</em> ultimately opened to a lukewarm response at the box office and ended up being a critical and commercial failure<br /><br />It was soon revealed that Snyder had held on to his unfinished version, which created a buzz among fans. Some of them took to Twitter to demand the release of the <em>Snyder Cut.</em> The filmmaker addressed the demands by saying that Warner Bros did not have enough financial incentive' to release his version. Things changed when WarnerMedia decided to focus on their streaming service HBO Max and confirmed that the Snyder Cut would see the light of the day.<br /><br />Warner Bros. and HBO Max reportedly paid Snyder a huge amount to work on the raw footage, which makes this an important venture for all concerned.<br /><br />Interestingly, the events surrounding the release of <em>Justice League Snyder Cut</em> have shades of the Varma fiasco. Tamil filmmaker Bala was chosen to direct the movie <em>Varma</em>, a remake of the Telugu hit<em> Arjun Reddy</em>. </p>.<p>The producers decided to discard his version and reshoot the film with a new director at the helm. Most of the cast, barring the leading man Dhruva, was also changed. Bala's version ultimately released digitally, receiving negative reviews.
