<p>"I am searching for different roles always and I refuse to repeat myself. Maybe that is why my career graph has been slightly strange," Tulip told PTI.<br />The 29-year-old actress debuted with a big banner film like 'Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai' in 2002 and went on to deliver a powerhouse performance in 'Matrubhoomi', a film highlighting the position of women in society.<br /><br />"Matrubhoomi is a rare film for an actress. After that film, I was offered many scripts with similar kind of role, which I refused. I don't want to be typecast," said the actress.<br />The Mumbai-based actress's short career has seen her playing a terrorist in 'Dhokha' in 2007 and a casino dancer in the 2009 film 'Runway'. Even though these film have not done well at the box office, Joshi refuses to go back to playing a girl-next-door character.<br />"There is no challenge in performing the same kind of story. I am not in any rat race and I am happy to try out different things," said the actress, who is trying her hand at comedy for the first time with her latest film 'Daddy Cool'.<br /><br />Joshi plays the character of Maria, Aftab Shivdasani's love interest in the movie which centers around a funeral.<br />"This is my first comic role, something which I wanted to do for a long time. Maria's job in the film is to cover up for all the weird things her boyfriend does at the funeral ceremony," said Joshi.<br /><br />"It is a humorous film, with a lot of emotions too. I had a blast while shooting for it and also got an opportunity to work with a lot of senior people like Prem Chopra and Suniel Shetty," said the actress.<br />"Aftab is the centre of attraction in the film, and he has outdone himself to portray the character," she adds.<br /><br />'Daddy Cool' also stars Chunky Pandey, Ashish Chowdhury, Rajpal Yadav, Aarti Chhabria and Javed Jaffrey.<br />Joshi is not perturbed by the fact that a multi-star cast film takes away the limelight from a single actor who has to share the platform with so many other stars.<br />"Films are different nowadays, it does not matter whether it is a multi-star cast or not. I am happy with the way my character has turned out to be," said Joshi.<br />The former model also said that she is not compelled to act, and does it only by choice.<br /><br />" I was offered film when I was a model. Back then, I didn't realise acting is a different ball game. I am enjoying it. I do not act because I have to. I do it by choice," said the actress.</p>
