Ranbir Kapoor reacts to Alia's lipstick statement, breaks silence on being called a toxic husband

Ranbir, who is gearing up for his upcoming movie 'Animal', recently interacted with his fans over a Zoom video where he spoke not only about his upcoming movie but also about his future projects.

Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor is one of those stars who doesn’t react to anything apart from his work. The star, who has successfully completed over 15 years in the industry, has always refrained from answering or reacting to anything that involves his personal life. Be it his love life, personal problems or holidays, Ranbir has never shown any interest in giving a peek into his personal life.

The actor, who is gearing up for his upcoming movie Animal, recently interacted with his fans over a Zoom video where he spoke not only about his upcoming movie but also about his future projects (Ramayana and Kishore Kumar biopic). He also reacted to his wife Alia Bhatt's lipstick statement which made headlines a couple of months ago.

In the video Ranbir said, “I feel negativity is very important especially if you are an artist and if you have some work out there. You know sometimes a lot of things are written about you as an actor, a lot of opinions are made which are not necessarily true and if you take it with a pinch of salt because this image of mine which has been created by the movies or the characters I play or by media is something that I don’t own. It’s owned by the public; it’s owned by people who like my work or dislike my work and they are allowed to say anything about me as long as they give my work a chance you know. As long as I can prove to them as an actor and that has always been my focus -- to just act.”

“Recently, I was reading some article about being toxic and something relating to some statement I made and I understand this. And I am on the side of the people who are fighting toxic masculinity, if they use me as the face of it, it’s fine because their fight is bigger than just me feeling bad about them having an opinion about what I said.”

Ranbir was seen reacting to AliaBhatt's lipstick statement.

For the unversed, a few months back Alia Bhatt’s makeup tutorial video went viral on social media. In the video, Alia was seen showing off her makeup regime and said that Ranbir doesn’t like her applying red lipstick and if she does, he immediately asks her to ‘wipe it off’. This remark didn’t go down well with the netizens and fans slammed Ranbir Kapoor’s toxic trait as a husband.

Ranbir Kapoor married Alia Bhatt in April 2022, and became proud parents to a baby girl Raha in November 2022.

On the work front, Ranbir is busy with Animal promotions while Alia is busy filming for Vasan Bala's Jigra.
