Heavy rain fells houses, hoardings in Maddur

Heavy rains that lashed Maddur town and surrounding areas on Tuesday night, damaged a few buildings and brought down huge hoardings. Normal life was affected.

A huge hoarding, next to the Padmavathi Kalyana Mantapa at Shivapura, collapsed on an electric pole and a power outage occurred in surrounding villages under Somanahalli zilla panchayat limits.

The power supply was restored by the intervention of authorities. Other hoardings, including the one opposite Thimmadas Hotel collapsed.

While roofs of a few houses were blown away and other houses collapsed in villages across Maddur taluk. Other parts of Mandya district also received heavy rain on Tuesday night.
