<p>Thambiganipalli (Andhra Pradesh): An elderly woman being tied to a pole in a property dispute, in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh, as shown in a viral video, is a staged incident, police said on Tuesday.</p>.<p>The purported incident was staged for video by her in-laws in Thambiganipalli village, they added.</p>.<p>Munappa, who had two wives—Gangamma and Munemma—died on July 5, and his final rites were performed on July 13. A property dispute erupted between the members of his family after his death, police said.</p>.'Influencer' thrashed by rival over social media post in west Delhi's Tilak Nagar.<p>In this backdrop, Gangamma was seen tied to a pole using a pipe, with her son Suresh seen standing next to her, in a video that went viral.</p>.<p>When they received a complaint on this alleged act, police went to the spot and found the incident to be staged, Kuppam DSP B Parthasarathi told <em>PTI</em>.</p>.<p>"When the police arrived at the location, Gangamma was standing near the pole with a pipe wrapped around her, but it wasn't tied. It was confirmed that this was a completely staged incident fabricated by Suresh and his side of the family over property disputes. No one else was responsible," he said.</p>.<p>Police noted that Suresh staged the incident in the presence of Munemma's daughters.</p>.<p>After staging the incident, Suresh falsely accused Manjunath, son of his stepmother Munemma, of tying up his mother, Gangamma.</p>.<p>However, police said they found that Manjunath was not even present when Suresh staged the incident.</p>.<p>Police further said that Gangamma suffered no harm, the video was fabricated, and it was an attempt made by Suresh to defame Manjunath.</p>.<p>Rallabuduguru police station booked a case in this regard. </p>
