<p>The Anantapur district collector summoned on Friday, all the 26 tahsildars immediately and the district special police band to Puttaparthi. The government launched preparations for the visit of VVIPs and devotees by taking over the huge Sathya Sai stadium.<br /><br />It has also begun to streamline arrangements to receive the President and Prime Minister and other dignitaries who might arrive in Puttaparthi town, about 435 km from Hyderabad, perhaps from Saturday to visit the ailing Baba.</p>.<p>The district police took charge of the stadium and set up three massive power generators and three huge screens for the benefit of devotees. Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy interacted with his Cabinet colleagues Raghuveera Reddy and Geeta Reddy camping at Puttaparthi on the preparations and arrangements. The DGP has instructed the DIG and the SP to make foolproof arrangements for regulating the flow of devotees to Puttaparthi town. <br />“We expect at least five lakh visitors in the coming days,” the DGP said.<br /><br />The special medical bulletins released by the medical team attending on Sathya Sai Baba since March 28 and headed by Dr A N Safaya said that there was no improvement in Baba’s condition since morning “despite all medical attention and continued treatment” which included CRT therapy, dialysis and ventilator support. <br /><br />“Sai Baba’s liver and kidney are not functioning, BP is low and heartbeat is irregular but his brain is not dead yet,” said Dr Raviraj, government doctor supervising Sai Baba’s treatment.<br /><br />On the other hand, the Sathya Sai central trust members met once again and took note of Sai Baba’s health condition. “Family members refuse permission to withdraw ventilator till last moment of functioning of lungs,” said an unconfirmed source quoting the trust members.<br /></p>
