<p>»A court in Meghalaya on Friday acquitted a former Bangladesh minister, Salahuddin Ahmed, who was arrested in May 2015 for allegedly trespassing into India, reports DHNS.</p>.<p>The court also ordered the government to deport Salahuddin to Bangladesh.</p>.<p>Ahmed, the communications minister during the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Khaleda Zia's government between 2001 to 2006, was arrested on May 1, 2015, from Golf Link area in Shillong.</p>.<p>A case was subsequently registered under the Foreigners Act for illegally entering India as he could not produce any travel document. The BNP is now in the Opposition.</p>.<p>Ahmed's family, however, had charged that he was picked up by some men who identified them as sleuths of detective branch of the Bangladesh Police.</p>
