CBSE releases Class X, XII board exam date sheet

Class X board examinations of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) school students will start on February 21, 2019, and conclude on March 29, 2019.

The examinations for CBSE class XII will start on February 15 and conclude on April 3, according to a notification issued by the board on Sunday evening.

The results are likely to be declared “by the first week of June 2019,” the CBSE's controller of the examination Sanyam Bhardwaj stated in a notification.

A total of 18 lakh students of the CBSE schools are registered for the Class X board examinations. The number of students registered for the Class XII board examinations next year is 13 lakh, a CBSE official said.

Both the Class X and Class XII board examinations will start with vocational or elective subjects from February 21 and February 15 respectively.

The Class X board examinations for Mathematics will be held on March 7, Science on March 13, Home Science on March 25 and Social Science on March 29.

Class X board examinations for Kannada, Arabic, French and Gurung languages will be held on March 9, Sanskrit on March 16, Hindi on March 19 and English Communication on March 23.

Board examination of class XII students for Physics will be held on March 5, Biotechnology March 7, Chemistry on March 12, Biology on March 15 and Mathematics on March 18.

Class XII board examinations for Banking will be held on February 23, Accountancy on March 6, Business Studies on March 14 and Economics on March 27.

Class XII board papers on English Core will come on March 5, Geography on March 7, Hindi Core on March 9, Sociology on March 11, Political Science on March 19, History on March 25, Psychology on March 29, Home Science on April 1 and Philosophy on April 2.

“Date sheet of the board examinations has been prepared on the basis of the subject combinations opted by the students of Class X and Class XII. It has been observed that this year students have opted for about 30,000 combinations of subjects in both the classes,” the controller of examination stated.
